How green is my guitar?

Just found an interesting article about guitar manufacturers joining the sustainable wood movement. Historically, musical instruments have been made in large part from threatened hardwoods. It looks like things are slowly changing..... have a look here

This is very relevant to me , since my son just bought a Taylor acoustic. Are acoustic guitars less problematic than electric? In any case the deed is done. I couldn't pry that lovely guitar out of his hands with a crowbar!
